Gouache on prepared paper

I made this study in school using my own handmade gouache. I'd recently acquired some powdered graphite, and I was eager to paint with it in hopes of achieving an effect that blurred the line between painting and drawing. The figure on the left is a plaster cast of a sculpture. The figure on the right is a live model.
