Commission PricesThe prices below are estimates of projects based on size and medium. They include all material fees. In the case of animal and human portraits, these estimates reflect the price of a work with only one figure. Additional figures are another 40% of the total cost minus the cost of materials. See "Fees and Taxes" below for more information about additional costs.
Please note that Outside the Box paintings are subject to a greater number of variables and thus may not closely align with the prices shown here. When commissioning an Outside the Box painting, I will provide you with a detailed quote that reflects the complexity of your piece and, if needed, some alternative plans that better fit your budget.
How to read these tables:
Under "size" is a list of common sizes. The dimensions of your piece may be different, but these should be useful points of reference. The first size listed for each medium is the smallest format I typially offer for that medium. Exceptions may be made at my discretion. If you're looking for smaller works, check out Lockets and Miniatures. (Those range from about $200-$500)
"Price" is the typical cost of a project given a particular size and medium. It assumes the piece is either a.) a landscape or b.) a portrait (human or animal) with only one figure. The price includes the cost of materials, but it does not include taxes, shipping, or rush fees.
"40% deposit" is the non-refundable deposit you should expect to pay under the standard payment plan. "Final payment" is the remaining 60% due upon completion of the work. More on payment plans can be found below.
Custom digital Collages cost $50 each, and include both a high-resolution image of the collage and a matching phone or desktop wallpaper. For an additional $15, you'll also receive a glossy 11"x11" print of your commissioned work. Digital collage commissions must be paid in full up-front.
Below is a list of possible fees that may be added to the price of a commission. All fees will be written into the commission contract, and most fees must be paid at the time of the deposit.
If you commission or purchase work from me and you live in the state of New York, a sales tax of 8.875% will be added to the cost of the work. This can be included in your final payment.
The client is responsible for the cost of shipping their completed work and of any materials used to safely pack it.
The standard payment plan for all commissions is as follows: a non-refundable 40% deposit (plus any applicable fees and minus any applicable tax) is due upon contract signing, and the remaining 60% (plus any additional fees incrued during the process of the work and any applicable tax) is due upon completion of the work (or delivery if the work is being delivered by me.) If you are gifting the commissioned artwork experience to someone else, you may choose to pay the entire balance upon contract signing. This does not apply to commissions in which the final product is intened as a gift, but the client is the collaborator of the work.
Commissioned artwork is a major investment for many people. If the standard payment plan is not accessible to you, let me know so that we can arrange a payment plan that works for you. General guidelines for non-standard payment plans are as follows:
Please note that digital collages must be paid in full up-front.
I may occasionally offer promotional commission rates via my mailing list. Instructions on how to lock in that rate will be in my emails. To sign up, visit this page.
For a $50 discount on non-locket/miniature commissions priced no less than $250, you may choose to waive your right to approve a preparatory study. This arrangement must be made before the commission is started (at the time of contract,) and you must specifically mention to me that you are interested in this discount. Ask for more details when you send a commission inquiry.
