Digital Collage Commission Process

Note: The process outlined below is applicable to digital collage commissions only. For my general drawing and painting commission process, visit this page. For my lockets and miniatures, click here.

Understanding my commission process makes the experience more pleasant and productive for all parties. This process has three stages, each of which are marked by changes in the role of the client (you) and the artist (me).

Stage One

This stage is all about planning. After you send me an inquiry, I'll reach out to you and request any additional information I might need. We'll talk about details like the overall tone of the piece, size/format, and the types of images you'd like me to incorporate. You'll also provide me with up to ten images for me to include in the collage. See this page for image guidelines. Once all of that is solidified, I'll send you a contract to sign, and you'll send the contract back to me along with payment.

Stage Two

Now it's on me. I'll take your images, my image library, and any additional sources of inspiration you provide and combine them to make unique collage. If I'm stuck on any particular element, I may ready several versions of the collage to present to you.

Outcome:

Stage Three

Next, you'll receive a preview of the collage and a request for input. I'll make any necessary changes. Once you approve the collage, I'll send you a high resolution digital copy as well as any bundled extras (such as prints.)

Outcome:

A digital collage. The dominant color is dark red. The collage features neon signs, a record player, deer heads, white mountain peaks, and the character Sarah from Jim Henson's film Labyrinth.

Congratulations! You're now the proud owner of a one-of-a-kind work of art. I love to see my art in its new home, so once you frame and/or hang your commissioned piece, please send me a photo or two.
